Countries that have signed up to the Net Zero economic suicide pact are paying the price right now.
Just take a look at the energy chaos around the world.
Remember when the Texas grid went down in 2021 because their wind turbines froze over? This month, California’s grid almost went down because of a heat wave.
On September 6, California’s Office of Emergency Services declared its highest grid emergency level, then sent a text alert:
“Turn off or reduce nonessential power if health allows, now until 9 p.m.”
There have been rolling blackouts in South Africa. France and Finland are on the verge of total shutdowns.
As temperatures begin to drop in the northern hemisphere, Europe is preparing “blackout plans”, sending out “red alerts” warning of power shortages and cutting off industrial users.
The result?
There are protests on the streets right across the continent, from Scotland to Italy to Belgium and the Netherlands.
Here’s a snapshot of what we have in store as Labor and the Greens take us further down the Net Zero road:
In Estonia – the largest candlemaker in northern Europe, Estonia’s Hansa Candle AS has had to cease operations due to high energy prices1. People can’t afford to pay their energy bills, and now they can’t even buy candles.
In Germany – there’s been a 1000 per cent rise in sales of electric heaters in Germany as people worry about how they will keep their homes warm2. The lights of the Brandenburg Gate were turned off this month because of a new law to save energy3.
In Spain – all public buildings, shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, rail stations and airports have now been forced to limit heating to a peak of 19 degrees celsius and air conditioning to a low of 27 celsius4.
In Switzerland – a new government proposal seeks to imprison and fine people for using too much gas to heat their homes, pools and saunas5.
In the United Kingdom – people all over Britain have been told to turn off their freezers6 increasing the risk of food poisoning. Meanwhile, hot water has been cut off in many London apartment blocks, prompting calls for people to shower every second day.
This madness has a cost, and it’s NOT ZERO.
Ordinary people are angry.
The cost of everything, especially power, has skyrocketed.
This is real. It’s happening now.
And Australians need to brace for impact, because Net Zero is coming for you like a freight train.
I know there are some who think that we shouldn’t be left behind if this is where the world is heading.
They think we shouldn’t be the odd man out.
But just look at the state of the world.
If you and I can work together to stop Net Zero in its tracks before the real pain comes, Australia would be the global leader.
So let’s fight this together.
Our freedom, security and prosperity depends on it.
